I received this e-mail from someone a few days ago and wanted to know anyone's opinion on it.
"To whom this concerns;
I understand the logic of your site, but at the same time West Vigo was (is) such a small school that a lot of people knew each other no matter what class grade you was in. It would be nice if your site was open for others to see. In fact I graduated in 1990 but I knew people older and younger than I and I would like to contact a few of them since we lost contact with each other after school.

Jen, I think that this site is for the Class of 91. Sorry, but if they want to see people from different graduating classes that they can do that on facebook. I have found many people from West Vigo there. Yes we were all friends with other classes, but all in all you set this up for us to stay in contact with each other for reunions and such.

BTW-Keep Melissa Gaddis Wolfe in your thoughts and prayers. She went into labor this morning! Will keep you posted as soon as I know more.

Jeni ~ I agree with Carmen. I think this site is just for us. Also, the class of 1990 has their own site just like this one and like Carmen said you can find a lot of us on Facebook if they would like to keep in touch. I don't think we should change a thing ~ I like the intimacy of it just being our class. Is there any way of allowing someone to contact us by email without having to have a sign on to this site? That might be an option of someone from another class getting in touch with one of us. Not necessarily giving out our email addresses but allowing someone to send an email to us from this site? I don't know. :-) Just a thought!

Just my 2 cents... I like this site the way it is and it seems others agree. Jeni has done an incredible job for us. If others have helped sorry I left you out. With this question, has anyone thought of a collaborative effort between other graduating classes to create a West Vigo Alumni website? I like the structure and layout of this site but you could add varying classes from 19XX on. I like the security as well, that you actually have to be from West Vigo to see and contact someone. There very well could be one already and I just don’t know about it. Just something to consider. I am not into Facebook or MySpace and I just dont have time for it either.

Kirby Bilsland I enjoy logging onto this site and seeing only Class of 91 classmates. I think it would waterdown the site to allow others total access. I agree with Carmen that they can contact us via Facebook, or Myspace.

Thanks for the input guys it was what I was thinking too but it sounded selfish ;) lol There is a site for all West Vigo alumni http://www.alumniclass.com/westvigo. I think we will keep ours just for the Class of 91. Congrats to Melissa!!

Kirby Bilsland West Vigo Baseball team is playing for the State championship!!!! They beat Indianapolis Brebeuf today and will play Friday or Saturday next week, not sure yet on time. They will be playing at Victory Field in Indy!!!!

Yeah Vikings!

The State Championship game will be Saturday, June 20th at Victory Field at 4:00. There will be a Pep Rally Thursday at 7:00 PM at WV. I also think the community will gather on National to send the team off around noon (not sure about the send off details). If anyone from our class is going to the game, we should try to post a place and time to meet prior to the game. It would be neat to catch up.

We started this website 1 year ago to start finding classmates and spreading the word about planning our 20th reunion. YES 20 YEARS! Unbeleivable isn't it?! Funny how we all still look and feel like we ARE 20, right?! hahaha! Anyway, I would like to look into the possibility of booking The Landing for the reunion. Any other ideas or suggestions? I liked the idea of downtown area where there are hotels within walking distance but there doesn't seem to be a place with the facilities that is affordable. (I'm assuming the OHIO Building is out of the question!)Anyone with resources or connections out there?

I like the idea of The Landing also. The pricing Shelly said they got for their reunion doesn't seem to bad to me. I know that we still have 2 years left but I figure it will still be about the same.

And I don't know about feeling and looking 20 still.....no more than 25 though!! LOL (right!)

Gwenda, do you know if the Hilton has anything available? I know they have meeting rooms but I don't know about Banquet type facilities. There is also Holiday Inn--close to more hotels and restaurants. But if you want to have it more family oriented, then the Landing would be the best since they have the Water area, Bowling and Arcade room. There's not much else in Terre Haute unless we go top dollar.
